Corn and Sweet Corn Simulation
This simulation puts students in charge of a row-crop operation growing both field corn and sweet corn.
Students decide how many acres to devote to each crop, and whether to purchase crop insurance, then watch their choices play out against real-world-style price and yield swings. Because field corn and sweet corn serve very different markets, this simulation is a useful way to show students how diversifying within a single crop family can spread — or concentrate — risk.
