No. Because FRBweb.com is offered in partnership with the USDA’s Risk Management Agency, there is no out-of-pocket cost to teachers or students to use the platform.
Each student needs their own internet-connected device — a smartphone, tablet, Chromebook, or laptop all work. Devices can be personal or school-issued; students don’t all need the same type of device to participate in the same workshop.
No. They can join a workshop with only the workshop code.
A workshop can be completed in a typical class-period length. We recommend taking more time with the workshop to help students understand and think critically about each decision they make. We do have an express version of our Cows and Wheat game if you have a shorter time slot.
Students can join a live workshop led by an instructor, or complete simulations and coursework at their own pace if assigned by their teacher.
FRB is designed for high school aged students. Although middle school classrooms have used it with no issues.
Yes. Instructors can monitor scores and participation live during a workshop and export results afterward.
